I love DnD, Pathfinder etc. Also books setting in Forgotten Realms, R. A. Salvatore for example is my favourite.

Continuing in a 4th edition adventure with my gaming group this weekend - can't wait to see my halfling sorcerer advance to paragon levels

read quite a bit from Salvatore, too. I liked some, but not all. And I was not as thrilled as I was when reading ASoIaF. I am a huge fan of the old school DnD based computer games though (Baldurs Gate,Icewind Dale,Neverwinter Nights)

5e campaign in faerun, playing with my group tonight. im a lvl 8 paladin of tiamat

and yes grrm and a lot of other fantasy authors were DM's or players at some point

I have never played DnD but i hear its fun. i would like to try it. Is there a way to play onlnine? my friends dont like board games at all.

We play GoT once a year or something

@cursedleo there is a way to play online, but its live play( dnd is always live). check out roll20.net. i play on there with some out of town friends, its the premiere online platform for role playing games, and its free. you can get on there and find a group to play with.

You should also check out dndbeyond.com for organizing gaming group. It is also official site for all the rules for the latest edition, which in my mind is the best edition for roleplaying.
