Hi Guys,

Since I've arrived on this site, I've seen a lot of smart, small moves I didn't think of before and I was curious if you have anymore of those. For example:
- try to support with your siege weapon instead of attacking with it, so it's less obvious and maybe used multiple times
- when attacking a small force with a big army, try to move some of your units in the adjecent area's first, so there's no escaping and his units all die

Just small playing tips that I found very usefull (if true at least ). Was wondering if you have more of those for a still learning player? Thanks in advance!

Here is another small thing which comes in handy from time to time:

If you placed normal CP orders and a CP* order, you can decide to first resolve one of your normal orders and pass the turn to the next player.  They can do the same ofc, but for example when playing baratheon in turn 1 often you will have a normal CP and a CP* order while stark and martell only have one CP* order. By resolving your normal CP order first you can see how many ships they muster and adjust your own mustering.

You can also use special consolidate order to gain tokens. Very useful especially for Stark who usually has three unraidable areas that has crown icon printed. Ability to gain 6 tokens in one round when you predict that clash is coming is huge.

Talking about turn order two other things:

It is almost always a good idea to remove an opponents march order if you can. Be it by attacking the army carrying the order, using the queen of thorns or cersei. This is especially true in turn 10. The flip side of this is: place yor final march orders where they are save from your opponents.

Using doran on fiegdom or stars is obviously a good thing. But using him on the iron throne and thereby manipulating the turn order can be a real gamechanger

One other thing to be mindful of is tracking how many March orders your neighbors have and if you can coordinate having the final March by wasting a -1 March on something you don't want to move, so that your two other marches can go later in the round.

You can use this to either make sure you can't be counter-attacked or to deter movement into valuable territory.

My main approach is to always zig when others zag

What do I mean? I like to think what is it I want to do, how obvious is it the others, and then place different orders to try and surprise them. I also like to (more for PBEM and IRL games) look at my opponents and play their orders I would place if I was that player and then build a counter strategy.

And late on as mentioned above having extra marches to remove gives you a lot of counter attacking potential

Well, that can be effective, depending how good the others are or how experienced you are using this site (meaning can they guess you are bluffing or was it just a beginner mistake), but that still feels just a bit dull, especially compared to the other (great) tips above.

Especially in a game with beginners, bid one token for the Throne in the first clash, if you have one to spare. Many people often overlook the Throne track, and bid 0 to save tokens to "more important" tracks.
Yes, in many cases you would like to march after your opponent, to counterattack him, or avoid his counter, but ability to win ties in two other tracks, and a possibility to raid before your oppenent is easily worth one token.

Generally most people overvalue having an additional star over good positions on other tracks. Start with this math first: how many do I need to get 1/2 stars (i.e. how many do the bottom two houses have and add 1). Then you might have some to spare for the other tracks.
Also, if you fight bara/greyjoy, who have really bad combat strength on their sword cards, feint attacks with the math of "which of their cards is the necessary strength to win AND will cost me units?". Very often you can bait out high strength cards without losing units this way and prepare an actual kill move with superior decks.
If you play Greyjoy, never move the Knight so Riverrun first turn, or Gregor is coming for you (if lanni mustered a SE).
If youre Lannister, always try to get Stark to raid from Seagard T2-3.
Stark/Martell: always put your m+1 on your ships T1.
Stark: offer Bara Mountains of the Moon in an alliance so he lets you cycle freely. You have 5! barrels if you have the units, and not getting patchfaced or loose a fm every time you use roose goes a loooong way.
Greyjoy: using a SE to kill Stark/Lanni Ships in their Harbours is almost always worth it, even if you loose it right after it. Bidding a Token on Iron Throne early is always good if you decide to fight Lannister.

(These are general statements and can be debated in some circumstances, but are true more often than not)
