If you read the book you surely know something about Cyvasse, the game that looks like chess from Old Volantis. Its rules are not been officially released or explained in the books by Martin yet, but there are several unofficial version you can find (print) and play.

I always wanted to try it out, but I literally lost among all the different versions I found. Did you ever try it and have a favourite version?

Here some links with the best versions I found online, starting from my favourite one:

1) https://www.cyvasse.io/
You can play this version of the game online, with computer or with another opponent.

2) https://gameofcyvasse.com/
Just nice alternative rules and printable cool units.

3) https://cyvasse-online.com/rule_sets/mikelepage
Another good version of the rules.

4) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:92172
Best printed version of the game I've ever seen, you can find another version of the rules in this link.

There are even some apps for Android devices, but I really didn't like them for many reasons (no player vs computer option, strange rules, etc.).

I played at the first link some and against the computer it is too easy. it doesn't recognize when the king is in danger and doesn't exactly stop a knight if he can dbl move to capture.

Also, I feel like it is a little too easy to break through someone's lines...

fun game but not exactly a well designed rule set.

still, I will play you Merlo if you want

my username is Peppercorn

You are right, it is still in beta and the administrator seems not to care that much about his project: we should JM send to him Maybe Tyrion is the computer player with the weakest line.

My user name is Merlo, because I really like to change my nickname. I just accepted your request

What rules would you change?

I think the double march for the knights is a bit over powered and not being able to do any damage to a larger unit is a bit strange.

I could understand if say for purposes of an example a heavy knight = four and the lowest unit = 1. if the lowest unit attacks the HK his strength goes down to three. then they are not totally useless out there. if you lose certain units there really is no hope.

it just seems a little broken and too easy to slice through a formation. fun to mess around with though.

I only went with peppercorn b/c OursistheFury is too big and Fury was taken. And I had been using cracked peppercorn when I registered .

When I read knights' power I thought "Well, they are Loras!" and it's true. Their power is incredibly strong!

I saw somewhere a version that allowed you to decrease the strenght of strongest units, but it had some other problems. If I'm not wrong, that particular version had a stronghold, in which you could put one of your pieces and give it a +10 defence bonus!
Another good one was a version with the promotions. For example, you don't start with your heavy knights, but with your light knight, which you can promote in heavy.

I like this one mainly for the "trump" that some pieces have. According to y little experience, it seems balanced!
