  Welcome to Westeros! Russian Version

This is the online version of Fantasy Flight's board game: A Game of Thrones.
To get you started, this letter contains all the information you need in
your first battle for Westeros online.

To play the game you should of course know its rules, and if you do not yet know
them, you can download the rulebooks here. There is also a simple
introduction, which explains most of the (2nd Eition) rules on YouTube.

Watch out! There are many variations to the game, because of add-ons to the original one and a sequel, the 2nd Edition. The online version is based upon the original game, but features from the other editions are added step by step.
Each game is started with specified rules options. What the different options mean is explained here.
If there are open Questions, this link may answer them.
If you only know the second edition rules, you should read link.

There are two modes in which games can run.
In LIVE mode, players join the game online and stay there for as long
as it continues. This is almost like playing with friends at a table,
and the game will finish some hours after it started.

In Play By E-Mail mode, or PBEM, you only need to go online, when it is your turn. To notify you, the game will send you an e-mail, hence the name. This way, you can think a lot about strategy and tactics before you commit your decisions, and you do not need to stay online for hours. The drawback of this mode is that the game generally takes much longer than a LIVE game (up to months).

If this all seems too much to you, you can start slowly by playing some beginner games. In the game lobby they are colored green. Those games are hosted by experienced players, who can help you if you have specific questions.

To protect this site from bots and spammers, you are not allowed to create games yourself at first. You can earn that right, by playing the game and abide to some basic rules, which are required to keep the game fair for all players.

Besides the game, there is a public forum, where you can discuss strategies, features and anything else concerning a Game of Thrones. We encourage you to use it, but please abide to the forum rules, listed here.

We hope, you enjoy this site, and we will meet you in battle some day!

This is the welcome letter to new players, and they hardly qualify for MoT rights. What you are looking for is https://www.thronemaster.net/?goto=community&sub=forum&fid=2&tid=4860#top. But it won't be included in the letter.

There are several possibilities why you might not have been able to join a game:

-the game might have started already
-the game might have been password protected

I think mikebergey2 confuses MoT membership with his user account here on THRONEMASTER.NET ...

I'm sorry guys.  There is a lot of information to take in all at once being a new user on this site. Correctly said I did not realize I couldn't start games yet for my lack of participation and other reasons.  And then I think one of the games I was trying to join was password protected.  I'll get the hang of this all soon.  The only problem I'm having now is my avatar isn't showing up.  I'm guessing it needs to be approved by an administrator?

No, you dont need the approvement of an admin for it.
However, you cant use Gifs and there is a maximum size for your avatar. Maybe try it with a smaller picture?

Hi All!
New in town so i was wondering if the game is exactly the same like the first (real life) boardgame that came out?
I already learned that there are several games that are a bit different but how can i see what the difference is?

Hello Lannie85,

welcome to thronemaster.net!
Basically the 1st edition was implemented completely.
Later on rule changes and addons from the A Clash of Kings expansion and the 2nd Edition were added as options.
Before creating a new game MoTs (players with game creation rights) can choose which rules/options they want to use and play with.

Also check our help section regarding game options:
