Hello,

Here is my game :

https://game.thronemaster.net/?game=239560

I play Baratheon, I've been attacked in East Summer Sea and loose. I need to retreat 3 ships and the game automatically assumes I want to retreat them in the port of Sunspear. It's the "reasonable" choice as, otherwise, I would loose 1 ship but I don't see anywhere in the rules that I can't retreat in Shipbreaker Bay (and then loose 1 ship).

Can someone have a look and tell me if I'm correct ?

Thanks !

Julien

Bonsoir Julien,

Rules, page 21:

A player may not retreat his defending units to an area containing friendly units if this would cause him to exceed his Supply limit.

If a player’s only option is to retreat to such an area, he must first destroy as many retreating units as necessary to be compliant with his Supply limit after retreating to the area. After taking such losses, he may retreat the remaining units.

To sum up, you can never willingly remove a unit if you have an option allowing to save it, even if you end up in a worse situation.

I suppose this corresponds in the books/series to your poor defeated fleet fleeing for their lives for any place that would reduce immediate casualties - and possibly falling then into a trap.

To notice in your case that if your opponent had chosen a sworded card (e.g. Randyll instead of Mace), it would actually have been a better choice NOT to use Brienne to save your unit, in order to lose a ship and choose between two valid destinations.
