You cannot use the sword. The key word there is “immediately”. The queen of thorns for example says immediately remove an opponent order token from an area adjacent to the embattled area. If you remove a support order, it will not count for the current battle, even though the battle was already initiated.

As such, move the opponent to the bottom of the track before the battle resolution. You therefore lose the sword, and lose ties in battle as well. Additionally, if Martell was second on the fiefdoms track, he will get the sword and he will be able to use it against you! He can only use the sword only if you have not used it already in the current turn.
