Hello,

in the following game I am playing Tyrell. Can I support Bara in case Martell attacks HG or I must stay neutral? Either way I am helping one over other...

Thanks for rules clarification.

5.2.
You must prevent other players from winning, except:
a) If two players would be able to win inevitably in the current round unless you stop them (e.g. in the last round, or if both are able to take their last castle in the current round), and they cannot both be stopped from winning, you may choose to stay inactive. You cannot help one player win, but you can re-conquer the castles you lost previously, attack/support anybody to achieve a benefit, such as improving your ranking, or take revenge (2c).

b) If a third party threatens to take huge advantage of a possible win-preventing move, or if the move would be inevitably very detrimental to your standing, that win-preventing move may be foregone.

c) If you want to take revenge on another player for backstabbing or unfairly attacking you, you must declare your revenge in the chat as justification for not stopping the winning player, or supporting him in a battle in a situation under 2a).

In addition, your support changes only who wins in HG, not the winner of the game.

The save way would be to remain neutral, of course, but if you have a good in-game reason why you want to support Bara over Martell and explain that in the chat, you should be fine.

In this current game, I don't see it mattering if you support Bara, doesn't Martell still win the game anyway?

In general, revenge is an acceptable method to choose a winner, but you must state that in chat BEFORE making such an action.

Also if you are really unable to stop either player from winning in a certain round, then you are free to choose the one that makes things better for you, or to not try to stop either and maximize your own standings

But he has to do that before the action, right ? Considering he already willingly let Bara enter HG, shouldn't the 'revenge' clause be activated even before doing that move ? Or even closer to the actual backstab, 3 turns before ?

Seems a bit of a "after all I prefer doing that way so I justify it with a revenge" when done that way, instead of a revenge long matured in the mind of lady Olenna in the corridors of Highgarden.

. (spoilers from show but ehhhhhh)

On theme, I can see waiting until the end to announce your revenge, but also for the sake of gameplay and civility on the site I believe the revenge should be announced at the first action that is not considered part of the normal gameplay (i.e., here Tyrell letting Bara take HG when he can obviously keep it only to lose it to Martell later)
