Harakon, indeed.
This episode was utterly disgusting. Could be the total low point of whole show. Luckily I started watching this show late (2016 if I remember right) and not when it was first on air. So it's only 2-3 years down to sink rather than almost a decade.

There would be a lot to talk about in points that Harakon listed, but he is totally right in just pointing them out. They don't deserve anything more. "Let's just spend a crabload of money to make this episode look amazing, let's think about manuscript later if there is time"

What do we have left to wait for the grand finale? Will Jon grow up and kill Dany? Or will it once again be Arya? Can' wait, I'm so exited...

I dont think Arya will kill another Person in the series since her arc was finished when she left the Hound. She is not going down the path of vengeance anymore and from a storytelling perspective it has to be Jon who does something about Daenerys.

I forecast that Jon is going to kill Daenerys but in return wont survive either. Like this the Targaeryen Dynasty is completly wiped out and the "new world" is finally able to begin.

Those are valid points. I just have lost my fate in this show. As we have seen this season, it's no longer about who should be the one doing something (Jon killing Night King for example), it's about what writers think audience want to see. And people love Arya.

Do you think Dany will survive? If not, who then is going to be king if all Targaryen have been killed? Gendry?
I imagine this show will end with a cliché scene, people cheering to a new king

I thought the death of Varys made a lot of sense. Not even slightly surprising.

I really liked Cleganebowl and felt it was a good ending to the best written character into the show. Pushing his brother into the flames to end it? Loved it.

The prophecy about Cersei dying at the hands of her brother was specifically, purposefully, not included in the show. I'm surprised people even thought it would come true.

I quite liked the episode. Some things irked me though. The death fake outs really stop having an impact if you use them constantly. It's become particularly noticeable with Arya. Arya's scene riding away from the carnage was wonderfully shot. Daenerys turn really could have done with an extra episode to make her isolation and grief all the clearer. That said, I though Clarke was great throughout the episode. I like how she is looking more and more like her unhinged siblings.

God I hate it when you accidently close the tab and have to write everything all over again.
Click for details.

Cleganebowl: I simply hoped the dream of some fans would come true that the Cersei affair would be decided by a trial of the Seven. WOuld be much more cooler and climactic than being buried under a collapsing castle.
Varys death was just like Littlefingers: Both exceptional players of the Game of Thrones get killed without much of an affair. Varys acted like Ned in Season 1. "I simply tell Jon that I know that his name is targaeryen and nothing bad will happen to me." They should have left this out in this episode and let him write his letters to persons he knew would be on his side. He exposed himself without support and this is very out of character.

Cersei: Indeed. I think I read and listend the story so often that I am mixing show and book on some occasions.

I have nothing against the actors or the visuals from the episode. Both were pretty good! What I totally dislike is the written story underneath it. Sadly this is the story of the whole season...Bad writing and more important: Unlogic decision making!

I feel a lot more positive about this series than a lot of people. However, I really do wish we had two extra episodes to work with. One more before the Night King's army arrived and one more before this weeks episode.

On the episode before the Night King arrives you could increase the tension even more. Have ravens arrive from Deepwood Motte stating their scouts are disappearing. Similar ill news from Moat Cailin. It becomes clear the Night King is stock piling some extra bodies for his assault on Winterfell. He sends a few mini-attacks in to test the defences etc.

The writers also get an extra episode for character introductions. Having so many introductions slowed up the first two episodes.

The episode before this weeks could be used to build more tension between the forces in Dany's alliance and also to further display her isolation. The extra time would have helped so much.

Agree with all that Harakon
I have no problem with Dany being a mad queen, but that story needs to be told better
Every one of those deaths above was a throwaway and could easily have been made into something that could have been dramatic, tense, epic, satisfying or meaningful
Instead, it's the Dany CGI fireworks show, and who needs to think about dialogue, characters with their own minds and personalities, poetry or allegory

I didn't want a happy ending
I wanted one that made for a good story

The first half of the episode was ok: not good, just ok. They had to finish what a poor writing started with the last seasons and I wasn't expecting anything better than this, but... What the hell did I see in the last part of the episode?

Bran becomes king with a poor speech from Tyrion, funny moments out of contest during the council, Arya becomes an explorer, Sansa gains the North with three words and Jon Fuckin Snow is sent again at the Wall just tell me why! You spent quite a good part of this season telling me that he's a Targaryen and everybody saying it to anyone because they wanted him to be king, then Grey Worm says "NO, HE KILLED DANY " and everybody is ok with that? Even if he leaves for saling to literally nowhere after 4 minutes? Are you kidding me?

Moreover, it looks like they didn't close any stories: except for who's dead, everything it's still open.

Well, scene with Drogon, Jon and Dany was epic.
That's all good I have to say, unfortunetaly.

Like Merlo, I didn't expect much after seeing how this episode completely ruined this show, but I expected atleast something and they gave us nothing! I literally have seen better written high school comedy movies.

This was Game of Thrones for fucks sake!

Council of high lords gather to select new king. One stands and tries to plea for himself. Then this stupid girl says sit. "ok"
No one wants it? Right... Have you seen Pirates of the Caribbean: At the Worlds End? This exact scene was done better even tough it is a Disney adventure comedy!
Sansa wants to be queen. Because she wants to. She wants to. Bran: "ok".
No one else wants this kind of deal? Right...

Bronn is the master of coin? By what merits? Can he even read? Tyrion is not supposed to be an idiot. I believe Bronn would have been very happy with "just" Highgarden as a reward.
Thank god show didn't end there. Actual end scene wasn't much better, but still. That would have caused me to throw my TV out of window.

Finally, Jon being send to Nightswatch. I won't even go there telling how idiotic decision that was, I focus on little things like WHAT NIGHTSWATCH?! WHAT WALL?! Both were completely wiped out. Night King is killed, what is there to protect the realm from?!
The Wall took like hundreds, even thousands of years to build, then Viserion blasted it. Now, after like a month - half a year (who knows on what time cycle this show runs anymore after s7?) it is completely fixed.

I know one should not get this furious about a show, actually just a little while back I was the guy laughing to people taking things too seriously. But... I... Just... AARRGHH!

Well, I guess I should let this die in peace and focus on amazing boardgame made from a shit-ass show

After finishing this season and half an hour discussion with my better half: Thanks for the ride, but the drop off sucked. I kinda felt reminded of the Mass Effect 1-3: Amazing story, amazing characters but the last half an hour was a complete waste(meaning the overall conclusion).
But please let us take the time to remember Daenerys from Season 1-7. A woman who was casted aside for what she was, but with the will to make the world a better place. Inspiring thousands of men and women alike. A character I would wish a daughter of mine would take as role model(yeah parenting yadadadada, my spouse and me dont have dragons^^). But most importantly, how brutally she got murdered. Not a single other character was reveresed in the same was as she was. And the reason? My boyfriend ditched me and everyone likes him better? If a character deserved some kind of peace or „arriving“ it was her. Imagine her going with a haluzination of some kind, that she returns to the tent and is finally reunited with Drogo….Just a shame that the most important character got „game of throned“
Bran the Broken first of his what? This guy literally was dragged or carried everywhere, did nothing useful (ever) and is now the king because he is the memory of humankind? I heard there are some books in the citadel….but this is the shit they came up with as „motivation“ for the NK.
Sansa the queen of the North? Exactly the same as Bran. She never did something usefull on her own and she is portrayed to be a better player of the game than anybody else, but you never actually see her doing that. You never see her pulling the strings like Littlefinger, Varys or Tyrion did. Every situation she needed to be rescued from by others and while she had to endure horrible things, she did not need to fight for them the same way Dany had to. But because she is a Stark and stupid fan service(you cant kill important Starks after Season 3) she gets to be Queen of the North. All she ever wanted. For doing nothing.
Arya: I never really liked her character and she should be dead since season 6 anyway so she can drop from the edge of the world-_- . At least she did something usefull by killing the NK, but again a character who was not turned 180 and was able to deny the path to the dark side.
Jon: I nearly laughed as one of his first sentences in this episode was „My queen“. They did with him what the corner they wrote themself into asked oft hem: Sent him back to the Wall (which is guarding what exactly now?). Personally I would not have Jon survive the killing of Dany, eaten by Drogon or killed on the spot by Greyworm. Why? Because now the „new world“ Dany pictured can really start with all Targaeryens gone. They could have done the same thing with the lords deciding on a future king but without the obvious choice in the room, at least thats how they pictured him for the last 5 episodes…
To say something good: As much as I hated Jaimes death(how he died not that he died), I loved Brienne writing his story.
The councilmeeting was comic relief..Again I wished a bit more „new world“ feeling. Like them making a list of things needed to be done in the war torn kingdoms and the scene ending with Tyrion or Bran saying: „Lets get to work“
Thats all of what I can think of atm(more than I expected)…still have to let it sink

Okay, so this season really badly needed 2-3 more episodes. It's not one of my favourite seasons but still much better than S5. Everything is so much better that S5. I liked the broadstrokes, but the fine details were not handled well.

I really enjoyed the first half of this episode and was very disappointed by the second half.

Jon killing Dany? Cool, makes sense. Everything that happened after that was just really bland. I expected instantaneous pandemonium. Perhaps a civil war. Maybe the unsullied and the dothraki end up fighting for control of the beleaguered city whilst the Northerners flee.

Why calm though? It seems like such a unlikely thing to happen.

As for the council meeting it just wasn't very good. I liked the jokes, we need a bit of levity after the destruction, but the actual decisions made were baffling. The southerners really allowed the Starks to be placed in charge of the North, The Wall and Frozen North AND the Throne? Why would they ever agree to this? It seems extremely out of character. I'd be fine if the Starks succeeded maybe a couple of years down the line and Bran allowing it, that'd make sense but I don't know why the Dornish and Iron Islanders didn't immediately call bullshit on this whole thing?

It's not fixed as far as we know. Eastwatch is still probably destroyed. I'm pretty sure we were shown Castle Black.

I'm maybe one of the biggest fan of Martin's books (and of thronemaster ) and I cannot say that I didn't enjoyed the entire TV series with some exceptions. I love the soundtrack and most of the characters performance.

Here are some things that I wish to be different at the end of the story.

Click for details.
- Danny to realize that Westeros dont want her and give up the crown immediatly after destroying KL then go back in the Bay of Slaves with her loyal army to rule there (maybe with Jon aside)
-I'm ok with Bran as new king but with Bronn as Master of  Coins I wish that Hodor being somehow   sparred and named as Hand of the King (jocked), maybe The Leggs of the King . However the kingsmoot there shouldhave made differently
        - If Jon stays in Westeros his place is always in the Nightswatch  maybe with some new purposes to be defined clearly - a kind of neutral force of The Realm who don't obey to any House and meaned to balance things when troubles
        - Sansa to realize that she's not able to rule by herself and to claim Tyrion as her Hand (or her husband? why not? )
        - I wish mostly that Asha to say NO to the new King and to rule by herself the Iron Islands whatever if risking to be considered as a new  Greyjoy rebellion

GRR can U see that fat man?

Well, since the series deviated from the books it got pretty mediocre with some highs (mainly graphical design of scenes, some plot points) and many lows (non-existent logic, strategy, and intelligent people/dialogue, non-explained motives*) and ended with a completly meaningless second part of episode 6. Pretty sad.

* I think Dany going over the edge is understandable and well prepared in her whole character development [it is not because everyone likes Jon better, but because of everything she had to endure to get to the Iron Throne and her thirst for revenge]. But in the series it is not displayed in any believeable way.

Final two seasons were ruuuuussssshhheeeddd! Rushed. Rushed. Rushed.

Rushing anything always results in subpar, poor, terrible rubbish.

In the wise words of Septa Unella, walking slowly behind D & D; Shame! Shame! Shame!
