NEW INFO guys!

I just released some new info on my Discord, https://discord.gg/yj459Cz, that I discovered after browsing through some videos of Gen Con:
- The Eyrie will have a stronger garrison than anyone else - at 4 STR.
- House Targaryen will have the normal 2 STR garrison.
- Braavos will have a neutral token with 5 STR.

- NEW ORDER TOKENS. There appears to be new order tokens in the expansion. They are cut in half, one side with defense, the other with.. something else..

More info, as per the new FFG post on their site.

The biggest news is easily the change that changes the whole game mechanic: You can now bribe by giving out power tokens!
"In Mother of Dragons, players can freely give power tokens to other players as an… incentive to see things from your point of view. With this new bargaining tool, the battle for the Iron Throne takes on a new form. "

Other stuff:
- The Westeros IV deck has various events happening, in addition to having two areas where you potentially can get new loyalty tokens onto. The events influences where the loyalty tokens go/the price the Targ player has to pay etc.
For example one even is "In turn order each player moves a loyalty token to an adjacent area (if able). The Targaryen player may cancel each movement as it happens by discarding 2 power tokens."

- Also we got specific info on the role Targ has during CoK event: "When players bid on influence, House Targaryen also bids on the three influence tracks, committing any number of power tokens. However, once all bids are revealed, House Targaryen must distribute their power tokens among the other players, increasing those players' bids for influence! "

- The info on Dragons is old news, they grow stronger as the game progresses (up to a max of 5 STR each at turn 10), can fly everywhere using a normal march order, etc..

Haha, I don't know anything about that In their website it is currently said that release will be 30.11.

My game arrived today

But stock is low (and only a few shops has it, then sold out again), and most won't get it until later in December/early January.

Deluxe playmat estimated to get in stock around Dec. 15.

Yeah, mine won't come until christmas. Let me now how you feel, is it good with lower player counts

Played this last night. Took almost 9 hours with 5 players using all 8 houses through the vassal system.

Was a mixture of fun and exhaustion at the pure number of new mechanics involved in the game.

That said, was pretty balanced, except perhaps for Arryn which was v weak (though this driven by vassal choices).

Seven hells! It took 9 hours?!?

Do you see any opportunity to limit the map to cut it down to say 4 players and 2 vassals?

You can definitely cut it down. You can only play 2 orders per vassal house, so it's not a massive amount extra. Can also opt to play without Targaryen. No reason you couldn't also remove the Iron Bank, though that's a limited time sink.

Would also be a lot faster after a game or two... it took us more than an hour to run through the full set of new rules and debate where we found them vague. Actually 100 mins, but that's more about us...

There are actually two sets of Targaryen house cards also. One is compatible with the existing expansion pack cards, so there's actually a huge amount of variation possible. It's a real minefield.

Is the thought being that the second Targ deck corresponds with the DWD cards for the other houses? Do you use the base set up or the DWD set up?

Second Targ deck is used with DWD cards (and FFC Arryn deck), but uses the base game board (and influence track, I assume) setup. Which is a bit of a bummer. If someone creates a balanced-ish way to just add Arryn and Targ to DWD in its full (lowering Targ's win points, probably), that'd be cool.
