I would like to point out, that Stark had six castles a long time. If Baratheon had ended the alliance, he would have had two neighbours with six castles, that are probably out to get the last one from him. I have not yet analysed the situation, but I doubt, that he was able to hold CP AND e.g. Sunspear.
Also, it looks like Tyrell was about to break the alliance on the last turn, by attacking King's Landing with Loras Tyrell. There, my question would be: was Baratheon able to upgrade the footman to a knight sometime before?
