I've been playing as Tyrell frequently on the Lantsev server recently and I'm still learning the intricacies of strategy.
One thing I read about Tyrell which makes me love playing them, was being able to use Loras twice in one round.
I get that you need to save Loras as your penultimate card in order to pull it off, but I found in my last game there's a lot more to it than that.
A lot has to go your way as Tyrell for the play to work. For example, you may need to be ahead on the Fiefdoms or have the Sword versus your target factions, you may need to have a card advantage against them and you also must avoid being attacked when you are left with Loras and one other card, because to win that battle may mean losing Loras in defence.
In that case his ability does not play but he will be available again next deck refresh. The alternative would be to play the other card and be left with Loras as your last card, which means once he is used he may not be used until your next deck refresh.
On top of that, you need to make sure you will actually win in all 4 battles using Loras. The Queen of Thorns is handy for this, so ideally you have her in your deck when you set up for the play.
So I'm thinking it's better to not put yourself in that position, and rather set up with ideally 3 marches and 4 cards in your deck. So that means you need enough stars on the Kings Court to support a +1 March and ideally a +1 Support to win the battles.
Where I struggle deeply in my understanding is how to plan well for this, because it seems a flawless execution needs to be planned several rounds ahead, like chess. At present, I only play the round I'm in rather than think that far ahead, but I expect the best players can plan for 5 rounds or even more.
What tips have you got, that I've not already mentioned, for executing the Double Loras? Perhaps I've mentioned something you feel needs more detail. Whatever info you have will be of great benefit to the Internet
