Hey everybody.

Is there a working strategy for Lannister taking KL early? If you have an alliance with greyjoy you could theoretically march +0 your knight and footman to Stoney Sept to then March+1 them and the footman from SS to Blackwater in the same turn. You could then hold KL in round 2 by march+1ing the 2 footmen and 1 knight into KL.

Do people ever try this? How has it been working?

In both the Feast for Crows expansion and the Dance of the dragons Lannister starts with troops in KL so the creators thought it made sense in a way.

It would take an extraordinary turn of events for this to happen. Even if it were possible, it would be impossible to hold it for any length of time against even a half component Baratheon player.

One hurdle?  Rains of Autumn is a frequent occurrence, especially early in the game with Greyjoy holding the blade and not being able to use a +1 march anyway.

Even if it worked, you would be putting all of your eggs into a single basket, essentially emptying the Westerlands and inviting Greyjoy to take everything.

And even if they don't, you'll never hold it against Bara's constant sea support.

TL;DR -  No.

Does that make any sense anyway?...
Btw Lannister also has the nearly lowest winrate in the Dance of the dragons mode..

an early turn 2 KL is virtually impossible, as it'll simply leave RR and lannisport totally exposed. It would take an ordinary set of situations for Greyjoy to not pass on that opportunity
