Hi, we just finished playing the game "Tywin's End".  And the end of the game, I, Lannister, had 3 strongholds and two castles.  Stark had one stronghold and four castles.  how did I lose?  I had more strongholds than he did for the tiebreaker.

Please help

The size of castles doesnt matter, its equal amount of castles so first supply counts, then cp's and then highest on throne. Correct me if im wrong but i believe thats the rule.

That's really not fair at all. There was no supply card for 2 rounds and the game just ends like that? Why do we have to play by first edition rules just because we have 4 players?

Its the only winning condition we have here.
Making a difference between Strongholds ad castles would imbalance the game.

I'd also like to argue that making strongholds worth more wouldn't imbalance the game.  Strongholds produce more units and are more likely to be better defended than a castle.  That's why the board game rule book has set it up that way.  That's much more fair a tiebreaker than the last time a supply card was drawn.

ElPopelos,
Is it that the number of strongholds for tie breaker hasn't been implemented yet, or that for balancing purposes that function hasn't (and won't) be implemented?
   Thanks,

Context to my previous comment, the stronghold tie breaker is a rule in second edition games, breaking ties before Supply.  In first edition, it just goes straight to Supply.

Yeah, but here's the deal. IF the strongholds are the tiebreaker - Stark and Martell would never win the game through that tiebreak. Let say Bara, Stark and Martell are tied: Stark with 4 - Moat, WH, Eyrie and WF: Martell - YW, SE, SS and Starfall; Bara - Dragonstone, KL, CCP and Reach. Unlikely situation, but possible to happen. Baratheon will always win no matter the supply. I do feel it is much more balanced this way!

EDIT: supply way I meant.

I see what you're saying but the flaw in that argument is that those 4 castles for Stark and Martell are in their natural areas of control.  Baratheon has to go out of his way to take and hold The Reach, a difficult task.  Cracklaw point is also more vulnerable to a Stark invasion than any Stark castle would be.  Therefore it would be fair to give Baratheon the win in that situation.

It's an asymmetric map which makes it imba when strongholds count more.
In addtion, it encourages players to go for the big ones. Games will get a bit more predictable and boring.
Each rule has its pros and contras. In this case I abuse my god rights here.

maybe an optional rule in the future...

Also, statistics dont lie and when you take a look  at Martells Winrate its clear that heeds some kind of buffs.
However, we can safely assume that introducing that rule would rather be a nerf than a buff for Martell.
