None in the world has gotten it, period

Latest from FFG is that it should arrive "within a few weeks, depending on shipping/distribution etc". Sometime in February looks likely.

Never, probably. Unless the game engine on this site is revamped and it takes less time than several years to implement small additions.

You can play it on table top sim.

Hmm seems like this topic died a bit? What are your feelings about "Mother of Dragons" guys?

I feel like the balance is sooooo shaken.

Played Martell last night and it really felt bad, going vs Baratheon is for me a no-go, firstly because now there is this huge threat on the sea - Daenerys(she has 8 ships, starts with 3, got 3 star orders permanently) and secondly - Baratheon is so weak right now you feel like supporting him is the way to keep the balance of the game. They've taken away star order from him(Bara), added a huge threat right next to his sea and in addition he has another house that can easily take and control Cracklaw point - House Arryn.

In addition, let's be honest, it was already quite a task to get some barrels as Bara and now it is even harder. If Daenerys doesn't "buy" your neighbours(and Arryn alone is enough) and just takes your sea turn 1(she can attack with a maximum power of... yeah... 9!, 3 ships with a march+1 and Viserys + Drogo, but lets be honest 2 ships with march +1 is enough even if Bara puts def+1) you still struggle to do anything if there is no early mustering(and if there is none Targaryen is going ham on the sea with 5 ships ). Pretty much like Tyrell but it feels even worse.

Coming back to Martell - it feels like the only right way is to attack Tyrell, but you can do it only if you've got an alliance with a Dragon Queen and she is focused 100% on fighting somewhere else on the map.
There is an option to rush east and land on Essos... though it doesn't open you a way to 7 castles and just doesn't feel too good. Daenerys short hand of cards, ability to buy your neighbours and you will basically struggle to get even one star order if she doesn't want you to.
You can do it if 3 of 4(or 2/4, but strong) houses neighbouring with Dany attack her.

And Tyrell has a star order now, the one Bara had, which i can't explain. So he can muster 2 ships, set-up farming points on arbor and dornish marches, easily grab 4 barrels and be just super fine.

Arryn feels like squished between 4 players without enough castles to take and not enough barrels.

Stark, if he's being attacked by Greyjoy, is also at the mercy of Daenerys. And let me tell you that it is REALLY tempting to go north. Somehow, during our 3 games, there was a loyalty token on almost every single territory in the north.

Lannister and Greyjoy felt exactly the same, though now Moat Cailin feels quite like blackwater

Daenerys just wants to play as long as possible, get a non-aggression pact or just an alliance with Stark/Arryn/Bara/Martell attack someone she has no alliance with and just finish off the job flying around with all 3 dragons(or sacrifice one when she's close to 7 tokens). She has a really short hand of cards, after she burns Illyrio(he's out of the game) she has Viserys who's a great engine to just refresh your hand as fast as possible.

Need more games but it feels like 6 player variant is way more balanced, based on strategy and 8 player variant is the one you play with a couple of beers/wine/orange juice and a bunch of friends who just wanna laugh, talk a lot, have fun and the strategy part is somewhere in the background.

P.S. Stark almost killed all of 3 dragons with a single blow(Targaryen decided to take Winterfell and got stuck as she always moves last) but Arryn saved them by going north and killing supporting SE... sad, sad, Daenerys then won in round 9.

I hate everything Targaryen related with a burning passion. I would have refunded the mat and the expansion if I could.

Unfortunately I haven't yet had the chance to try a Targ-less 7 player game, I imagine that could be exciting.

Played as Arryn in 8p a couple of weeks ago. Targaryen was unstoppable.

I played this week as Targaryen.
Start is smooth, three stars forever, many orders on first turn.

Actually it turned out that its not that easy. If westeros is united to defeat you, you will be maybe able to fight them back from Essos, but its hard to step into Westeros. Until dragons are strong. It means at least 3 points. Before you can try take some free tokens, but if you land somwhere, you will wait all others marches before you can take off. And normally they will travel in group, as they are stronger, but you can lose them in one battle. So dragons are vunerable target, which every one will try to hit.
And if you land somewhere it can occure some musterring, so in a moment you are surrouned by armies.

It is not that easy to convince someone to alliance. On the other hand Targaryen doesnt seems to betray that easy. He doesnt really need yours castles and friends means less oponents.

Targaryen has a lot od money, as he has more troops and more unraidable cp areas. They are the thing that can convince any Westeros guys to help you

Targaryen has also 4 supplies while starting. It seems a lot, but this 5th barrrel is on Westeros. And you need that. You have great mustering potential, but after 2-3 turns you can easily hit supply limit. You cant have 4 troops army, so its not that easy to win a battle if you are always lower on sword. House cards are not that easy to use. Viserys and Drogo gives you an advantage, and Drogo alone is great on last turn to take some heavy defender capital. You are going to get rid od Illyrio on first iteration. Yours hand os very quick, when Illyrio od out and you use viserys with sth else.

Arryns seemed to be very defensive and IT was not that easy for them to leave valley.

East seas now became a theater for many seas battles. Targaryen doesnt have any interior sea to put support from the back, but they have more ships. Xaro is not that useful as it seems.During 8 turn game I almost didnt have sitution to use it (most ofte  battles - ships vs 3 ships, lacking 5th barrel). So maybe attack bara by targaryen on first turn is not that stupid.

Vassals are great, as you almost always have a full map and they are not that easy to defeat.

Iron bank gives some interesting opportutunities and makes game even more exicitng. I stopped tyrell im winning by wiping out starfall and he just lost one castle for good.

Eventually I was able to get 6 loyalty points and only web of lies in Westeros phase allowed Tyrell to win by taking 7th castle.

Extension its just great. Cant wait to play it againt.

OK so we had a 7 player game without Targaryen last weekend.

Some observations:
- the group is generally inexperienced (~5-10 games played max), Arryn was played by a rookie, but we still had a blast
- I suggest playing without Targaryen first to get the hang of Arryn and map changes
- we didn't use vassal system because Targaryen can't be vassals according to the rules. In other words, we played Expansion Lite

+ Arryn is hard to root out from Narrow Sea, but Stark gets his own sea area close to White Harbor
+ Arryn increased the pressure on Greyjoy in the Twins, but never really managed to take Seagard
+ it's almost impossible to eradicate Arryn and his knights from the Vale early, but without Essos he's even more conered than Martell
+ it seems that winning odds are more evened out now (with GJ and Stark checked by Arryn)

I'd love to play it again to see Arryn's full potential.
