Your House Card effect is resolved first and you take over a ship. Then my card triggers and sends all your ships back.

Arianne sends back units 'to the area from which they marched'
And my new ship wasn't marching, wasn't moving, your ship being already there became Targaryen.

I can't "move my units into embattled area" and I don't.

I can see your point, but you have to keep in mind that the Arianne House Card was made for the 6 player variant in which such a situation like this against Khal Drogo wasn't possible. Consequently moving into the area was equivalent to be in the area after combat and therefor the card just says move.
In my opinion the meaning of Arianne is that you are not allowed to leave any units behind.

New HC for new houses were added and thus existing HC could be altered too to make it compatible (especially in case when Targaryen is neighbour to Martell)
As they weren't I don't think that we should change now (with reason) the simplest interpretation that sticks to HC text.

There is another argument: what if I attacked you with 3 ships with supply limit 3-2-2? would I need to discard this one acquired with Khal? what about Khal and dragon? would I be forced to discard 2 new ships? It doesn't make sense

EDIT:
there is also another one:
in expansion pack there is a Blackfish HC to replace te orginal one. That was not in case of Arianne, so we should consciously stick to her text ability meaning.

There's a difficult decision to be made. I guess both side habe good reasons for their claims. We should seek for official rule posts. That problem must have occurred before. I don't have a good feeling (maybe) overgoing Arriane's ability. Having the ships behind to give backup might be a plus for T. Thus Martell maybe would not have played Arriane, if he knew about the rules as they were proposed (or claimed) by T.

On the other hand T has good arguments, too. Maybe Let's ask JM, he isnt participating.
